anthologies

The Sutherland FAW members have published three anthologies of short stories written by their members.

They are available for purchase at $15 each plus $10 postage.

UNDERCURRENTS
2021

Who amongst us can honestly say they have no secrets? In Undercurrents, the writers from the FAW Sutherland branch scratch the surface to see what lies beneath. The stories dive beneath the waves, down to where the undertow can drag you out of your depth.

WEBS OF LIFE
2019

"Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!"
(Sir Walter Scott, 1808)

Webs of Life is a tangle of short stories from the members of the Sutherland Branch of FAW.

DREAMS OF HOME
2016

Losing yourself in a good story stimulates the imagination, it intrigues and delights. When life gets challenging, dreams of home sustain us.
Dreams of Home is a collection of short stories from the FAW Sutherland Branch. It also features stories from the junior and senior winning entries of the 2016 SPARK Creative Writing competition.

2020 spark competition

Fellowship of Australian Writers Spark Competition group of winning entrants holding prizes

Sylvia Vago, Julianne Miles-Brown, Helen Armstrong and Fiona Johnstone had the pleasure of judging the Spark writing competition for High School children in the Shire area.

77 pieces of writing were submitted and on February 3rd, Fiona, Julianne and Helen, had the pleasure of presenting the winners with their awards.

It was an excellent evening and a wonderful experience to talk with the prize-winners and discuss where they see their writing future.
